Assembly

Biowaves SmartShell 5 and Fairphone 4 Cases

Place the case on a flat, sturdy surface. Slide your Fairphone into the case, aligning the top edge with the top edge of the case.
the bottom edge of your Fairphone into the case, applying gentle downward pressure until you hear the case click into place.

Biowaves HangHub

  1. First, place the case on a flat surface, such as a table. Then place the HangHub in the designated slot, making sure that the two parts are lying flat against each other and do not stick out through the straps.
  2. Take your Fairphone and place it, top side down, in the case. Then press the case flat against the table so it doesn't move, as this would cause the straps—and therefore the HangHub—to shift.
  3. Next, slide the bottom of the phone into the case. Make sure the HangHub parts don't pop out before the phone is fully secured in the case.
  4. Make sure your Fairphone is fully inserted into the case—the edges should be evenly aligned above the screen. If they aren't, try again.

Note: Not compatible with TPU or silicone cases!

The adhesive used is not compatible with TPU or silicone surfaces and will not adhere to these materials. This restriction applies to all types of adhesive and does not constitute a product defect. Before placing your order, please make sure that the case you have been using is not made of these materials.

  1. Clean the back of your Fairphone case so that it is free of dirt, dust, and grease. After cleaning, the surface must also be dry.
  2. Place the flip cover on a flat, sturdy surface. Open the cover and peel off the protective film from the adhesive strip.
  3. Place the case horizontally in the center of the flip cover. Make sure the edges of the flip cover are even at the top, right, and bottom.
  4. Now press your case firmly against the back of the Flip Cover and hold it there for a few seconds. To do this, you can use the edge of your hand to press firmly against the inside of the case. Make sure you apply firm pressure across the entire surface for a few seconds.

There you go—you've successfully turned your case into a high-quality flip case with extra features.

Disassembly

Biowaves SmartShell 5 and Fairphone 4 Cases

When disassembling, do not use pry tools to loosen the shell. This can cause damage or cracks at the point of contact, which is not a material defect.

  1. Hold the Fairphone low above a soft surface (cushion, sofa, rug) to prevent damage from dropping it while disassembling it.
  2. Hold your Fairphone in your left hand at the top; place your thumb on top and the other fingers of your hand underneath.
  3. Place the tip of your right thumb firmly on the lower right corner of your Fairphone case.
  4. Now lift the Fairphone out of the case by the bottom right corner. To do this, press down on the top left corner of the Fairphone with your left thumb while applying counterpressure with the tip of your right thumb on the bottom right corner of the case. This way, you lift the smartphone with your left hand while crossing your fingers, so that you can apply pressure with your right thumb on the lower right corner of the case until it detaches from the Fairphone.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 on the other side. Make sure the case doesn't close on the right side. Once the case has been removed and the bottom edge is detached, you can take out the Fairphone.

If you want to remove the flip cover, follow the instructions below. Please note that the adhesive is designed for a single use.

  1. Heat the back of the Flip Cover—for example, using a hair dryer—for 1 to 2 minutes. Make sure the leather doesn't get too hot, or it could be damaged.
  2. With one hand, hold the case at the right and left edges using your thumb and index finger, and with the other hand, pull on the magnetic closure to slowly open the flip cover and the case, as if opening a book.
