At Biowaves, sustainability is not just a buzzword – it’s the core of our philosophy and shapes every decision we make. We contribute to a better world by creating products that enrich your daily life while protecting our planet.

For us, sustainability means taking conscious steps that have a lasting impact – for you, for us, and for the world we all share.

Materials that make a difference

At Biowaves, we are committed to reducing plastic use and seeking plastic-free, sustainable, and natural alternatives wherever possible.

Our hardcases are made from biologically degradable material, free from toxins and softeners, odorless, and leaving no trace of microplastics.

We use recycled organic cotton for our straps and genuine leather for our covers.

We keep plastic components in our products to a minimum and use them only when they provide real value – for example, as durable and tear-resistant nylon cords on our HangHub.

Packaging and shipping: less is more

Our packaging is as minimal as possible – made from recycled and recyclable paper that delivers your order safely and sustainably.

We use biologically degradable materials for shipping, such as PBAT and cornstarch-based padded mailers.

All orders are shipped climate-neutral with DHL GoGreen, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions. In 2024 alone, we saved 240 kg of CO₂.

Commitment to marine protection

For us, sustainability goes beyond our products. We also take responsibility where our materials come from – in nature itself.

That’s why we support SPOT Marine in Cyprus, an organization that has been protecting endangered sea turtles for many years. With every purchase from Biowaves, you help protect nesting beaches, support hatchlings, and fund vital awareness work.

Our adopted sea turtle Marina Dwyn symbolizes this commitment. She reminds us why we choose sustainable materials and avoid plastic: to preserve habitats – in the sea and on land.

Paperless

We conserve resources by not printing invoices or delivery notes. You’ll receive your invoice digitally via email.

Fair and sustainable returns

We don’t automatically include return labels in our shipments. Since around 90% go unused, you can request one anytime via our online portal. A small fee of €4.80 applies and will be deducted from your refund. This helps us keep shipping affordable for everyone and ensures returns are handled fairly and sustainably.

Design and functionality

We value elegant, thoughtful designs that are both visually appealing and practical. Every product is developed with great attention to detail – from precise fit to the pleasant touch of the materials. Our timeless, versatile designs ensure long-term use – like our flip cases that double as wallets, or the HangHub with its multiple carrying options.
